At the press conference, Reginaldo agreed he was in talks with a party, but that was because he was against the working of Congress in Goa.
He also said joining another party was rumours, and such rumours in media would always be there before elections.
Reginaldobab, for your misadventure, please do not blame the media. Media and Goemakrponn reported what happened on the ground and not just firing in the air. Maybe, you yourself spread the rumours so that you can get a better deal from Congress.
Can you stand up and tell us that you never spoke to your supporters and media friends you were joining AAP? The media believed you as you were considered honest and upright, but they were wrong. You also turned out to be the same politician we have seen throughout Goa.

Be it Alexio Reginald Lourenco or Babush Monseratte, Babu Kavlekar, Vishwajit Rane or someone else, the politicians will always have their self-interest above the voters and the party.
Reginaldo was against his own party for four and half years and was seen more in the BJP camp than Congress. Considered one of the few honest MLA’s Goa possessed, Reginaldo too has proved he is a true politician after all.
A day before his birthday, he was all set to join the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), and it was also said that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was scheduled to arrive in Goa for Reginaldo’s induction.
However, on his birthday, Reginaldo finally received the gift from the Gandhis, which was craving all this long “respect in the party”.
Well, only time could tell how much respect the Congress would give Reginaldo before and post elections; one thing he has lost is people’s trust.
Agreed, changing parties is his prerogative which no one can question but terming reports as rumours and blaming media is uncalled for.
People now think that Reginaldo was in talks with the Arvind Kejriwal party only to bargain with Congress. Yes, that is the stark reality. He wanted attention and a big post in Congress. During his last birthday, the entire BJP camp was seen at his residence, led by Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant and other ministers and this year, the Congress crowded his birthday celebrations led by GPCC President Girish Chodankar, Digambar Kamat and Alexio Sequeira.
Within hours Reginaldo changed his decision from joining AAP to remaining in Congress for now. So what was the deal with Rahul Gandhi, Mr Reginaldo? CMs post or Dy CMs post?
The fact remains while Reginaldo may have agreed to whatever Congress said, only time will tell whether Congress will fulfil the assurances.
At the press conference, Reginaldo agreed he was in talks with a party, but that was because he was against the working of Congress in Goa.

For Congress, for the last four and half years, Reginaldo was of nuisance value, but suddenly, they found him to be priceless and, by hook or crook, wanted to retain him.
Now, Rahul Gandhi and Company has suddenly woken up to stop the exodus from the GPCC. A move too little too late, one opines.
Why was such an effort missing when Luizinho Faleiro or 10 others left in 2019.
Not just Reginaldo or Luizinho, the Congress has consistently failed to respect its leaders. Even a senior leader like the longest-serving MLA Pratapsing Rane does not get the respect he deserves from the party.
However, for now, the credit of retaining Reginaldo has to be given to Goa AICC desk Dinesh Gundu Rao and not anybody else.
He was the one who took up the issue with the party high command (obviously Gandhis) and explained the gravity of the situation, and also asked teh local leaders Digambar Kamat and Chodankar to convince Reginaldo.
Otherwise, Kamat and Chodankar never considered Reginaldo their own MLA.
