The Goa Raj Bhavan which last week opened its gates to the Right to Information Act (RTI Act) today received the first application seeking information under the Transparency law.
In his application submitted to the Goa Raj Bhavan this morning, Adv. Aires Rodrigues has sought copies of the letters written by then Goa Governor Satya Pal Malik to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah about the illegalities of the current Government headed by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant.
While seeking a copy of those letters written by then Governor Satya Pal Malik from November 3rd 2019 to August 18th 2020 during the tenure of the former Governor, Adv. Rodrigues has today stated that the people of Goa are entitled to know why such a caring and sturdy Governor was overnight so uncaringly shunted out of Goa.
While pointing out that the then Governor Satya Pal Malik was only complying with his constitutional duties, Adv. Rodrigues has stated that the letters written by the then Governor Satya Pal Malik once in public domain would expose the acts of omission and commission by the current government headed by Pramod Sawant.
While thanking Goa Governor PS Sreedharan Pillai for having rightly embraced the much needed RTI Act, Adv. Aires Rodrigues has stated that his application today under the Transparency law was just a beginning to opening the affairs of the Goa Raj Bhavan and that can of mega worms which over the last decade has been mishievieously and malafiedly kept under wraps.
