AAP National Convenor and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has announced his guarantee of providing employment to every youth if the Aam Aadmi Party government is formed in the state.
He said that every youth will be given employment after the formation of the AAP government and till the employment is not provided, one youth of every family will be given Rs 3,000 per month. He announced that 80 percent of jobs in the private sector will be reserved for the youth of Goa. Rs 5,000 would be provided monthly to families who lost employment due to shutdown of tourism and mining. AAP Government will further establish a Skill University in Goa on the lines of Delhi’s DSEU. He further said that AAP will bring an end to nepotism in government jobs in Goa and the jobs will be made available to the common man. Earlier, the AAP Convenor had announced free electricity up to 300 units to every family and free electricity to farmers, waiver of old bills and 24 hours electricity supply under the party’s first guarantee. He also attacked the BJP Government in Goa for their ill-governance and insensitivity towards the people of the state. The Delhi CM further said that he was happy that the BJP is copying the Delhi Model in Goa to give free water and doorstep delivery of services as the elections come near; and the people should only elect the original and not faulty duplicates.
Present on the occasion were National Executive Member and AAP Goa Convenor Rahul Mhambre, Goa Unit’s Sr. Vice President Mahadev Naik, National Executive Member and Goa Unit Vice President Venzy Viegas, Goa Unit’s Vice Presidents Surel Tilve, Pratima Coutinho, Valmiki Naik, Sandesh Telekar, National Youth Wing Vice President Cecile Rodrigues and AAP Zila Panchayat Member Hazel Fernandes along with several thousand AAP workers from all over Goa.
Not a gigantic task to allot funds to public welfare if you have the intent and will to be honest: Arvind Kejriwal
AAP National Convenor and Delhi CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal said, “Goa is an exquisite and scenic place. The people here are kind-hearted and jolly. God gave everything possible to Goa. There are rivers and mountains all around. But the politicians and the political parties of the state have looted Goa to such an extent that the people are now completely helpless and hopeless. We are here with the purpose of putting a plug on this loot. We have made a very elaborate plan for the development of Goa along with the people of the state. Last time when I came to Goa, we announced that when AAP gets voted to power, we will give 300 units of free electricity to households, free electricity to farmers, waive off old bills and provide 24×7 supply. A lot of people don’t believe it, they ask us from where will AAP get the funds to do it; they used to say so when we made this plan for Delhi as well. It’s not a gigantic task to arrange funds for public welfare. In Delhi, we cranked down on loot, bribery, corruption and ran the government with honesty. We saved so much money through these practices that we could make electricity free in Delhi. We will do this in Goa as well. The announcements we will make for Goa may also make one think how we will manage to get funds for our works. I assure everyone that the funds are all here. Goa needs the intent and honesty of the Aam Aadmi Party. This is Kejriwal’s commitment – if I guarantee something, I make sure that I deliver it. I am no ‘neta’, I don’t know how to do politics. I am an ‘Aam Aadmi’. I understand the pains of the public. Whatever we talk about, we do with substance and extensive research.”
Goan youth distressed, disturbed because of widespread unemployment: Arvind Kejriwal
Talking about the youth of Goa, the AAP National Convenor said, “the youth of Goa are very disturbed, they are very distressed. They don’t have employment opportunities. Their parents heavily invest in their education, but they’re running from pillar to post for jobs. That too, to no avail. So many poor families who could not afford education got their kids educated somehow by struggling, yet even such kids don’t have jobs. COVID-19 just worsened the entire situation, so many families went broke. For many years, mining hasn’t taken place in Goa. There were so many people employed in mining who lost employment. This has left the youth of Goa in a state of despair. They are forced to migrate out of Goa. We have to stop this. We have to create jobs in Goa which only an honest government can do.”
The AAP National Convenor went on to make 7 announcements for the Goan youth and assured them of bringing life back to the job sector.
Government jobs will be made available to everyone on merit. The regime of close aides of politicians harvesting jobs will come to an end: Arvind Kejriwal
“Goans told us that you need ties with MLAs and ministers if you want a government job in Goa. We will bring an end to this regime. Government jobs will be open for each and every person of the state and the friends and family of politicians will not be able to harvest them. Before we came to power in Delhi, this used to happen there, too. But the system is now completely transparent and accountable,” he said.
One unemployed youth from each household in Goa will be given employment; will get Rs. 3,000/month till they get employment: Arvind Kejriwal
“From every household, one unemployed youth will be given employment. Once we come into power, our government will arrange for the jobs. Rs. 3,000 will be given monthly to one unemployed youth from each household till they get employed,” he said.
80% private jobs will be reserved for Goans: Arvind Kejriwal
“Almost all government jobs in the state are reserved for Goans, provided there is a 15-year long domicile and proficiency in Konkani. Private jobs are not reserved for Goans. We will bring a law to reserve 80% of the private jobs for the Goan youth. We got to know how all contracts in Goa are given to outsiders. They bring their own manpower from outside the state and the Goans earn nothing. Similar apprehensions exist about mining that when the lease will be auctioned, the companies will get their own people to work on them while Goan mine workers get nothing. 20% jobs have been left unreserved to account for experts and specially skilled people, but 80% of the jobs will be taken up by Goans,” he said.
Rs. 5,000/month to families employed in tourism & mining till the industries are back on track: Arvind Kejriwal
“COVID-19 adversely impacted the tourism sector of Goa. The families who relied on the sector for employment are penniless today and struggling. They will be given Rs. 5,000 a month till the tourism industry is back on track. Similarly, the families dependent on mining are on the verge of starvation since the activity stopped. They too, will be given Rs. 5,000 a month till the mining industry works resume,” he said.
Skill University to be established in Goa to make the youth not just able job seekers but job providers: Arvind Kejriwal
“The newspapers recently published the Goa Government’s statement on 50% of the educated Goan youth being unemployed. The government said that ‘50% per cent of the educated Goan youth is unemployed because they do not have requisite skills’. Who will give them skills? It is the government which has to give them skills. It is the government which has to prepare the youth for jobs. We established a skill university in Delhi. A similar skill university will be established in Goa. After completing school, students will have the freedom to learn skills of their choice and become job providers and not just job seekers,” he said.
Shri Arvind Kejriwal concluded by saying, “I reiterate, we have made a very elaborate plan for Goa. I’ll keep coming to Goa to share with you how we will establish schools, hospitals, village clinics, doorstep delivery of services, and how we will fix the roads and the governance system of Goa. Through sheer willpower, we will bring back tourism and mining to their full potential. All of this requires manpower, which Goans will contribute. I heard that CM Sawant made water free in Goa. This has brought me happiness that they are copying our Delhi Model. We started the free water service 4 years back in Delhi. When we said we’ll give free electricity in Goa, they said we will give free water. They’ve also started the doorstep delivery of services in Goa. We started it 3 years back in Delhi. In this service, whatever service of the Delhi Government you want to access, you just have to call a helpline and an agent will come to your home at the time of your convenience. The Delhi Government goes to the homes of people. They don’t have to come to our offices. Even if you ask the officer to come at night, they’ll come to your place with the equipment to get your work done. I am happy that CM Sawant has started the service in Goa by copying the Delhi Model. I just have to say, why go for a duplicate when you have the original. Elect AAP, get the authentic quality of governance. Duplicates always prove faulty.”
