ALDONA: In response to a sextortion case, the Aldona BJP Mandal, led by former MLA Glenn Ticlo, protested late Sunday night by burning an effigy of Congress leader and Aldona MLA Carlos Ferreira.
Ferreira’s resignation was demanded at the protest, which was attended by local panchayat member Satish Govekar and Zilla Parishad members Manisha Naik and Diksha Kandolkar.
Ticlo asserted that the contentious social media footage is real and unaltered.
He charged that the MLA had damaged Aldona’s standing among its constituents, especially the legal community and past MLAs.
Ticlo also insisted that Ferreira resign so that the legal process could proceed and called for the appointment of a High Court judge to look into the case.
