PANAJI: Goan animation, augmented reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) powerhouse Fat Hamster Studio has created innovative and creative instagram filters that celebrate the essence and spirit of the ongoing International Film Festival of India (IFFI). The filter builds in augmented reality technology in a fun way which can allow festival goers to engage with each other in a more fun and enjoyable way. The filter is accessible through the instagram handle @fathamsterstudio
Said Rohan Ponniah of Fat Hamster Studio, a subsidiary of Goan company Kilowott, ” This project is part of our constant effort to create smart AR content that can connect with users in a more meaningful way. IFFI celebrates the spirit of visual storytelling and the iconic peacock is an integral symbol of the event. Inspired by the peacock logo we built a fun and engaging Instagram filter which is accessible to audiences”.
Instagram is making AR more accessible through its filters, said Rohan. The company has further plans to cover murals and historic sites across the capital city Panaji and create such interactive and engaging filters in the months to follow. “It’s part of our effort to offer the people of Goa a fun and engaging way to interact through AR technology”.
With an impressive roster of projects for clients ranging from Netflix and Nickelodeon to Byjus and HDFC, the studio is engaged in a range of animation, AR and VR interventions with a global presence in multiple markets in India, Africa, Middle East, Europe and the US.
Over the past few years Fat Hamster Studio has offered career opportunities to artists, graphic designers and a host of other professionals.
