PONDA: Locals of Marcel demanded the repairs to the footpaths railings of Amona Khandola bridge. Social workers Narayan Naik demanded immediate attention to the repair and maintenance work.
He said the bridge was inaugurated some one decade back and proved useful for Amona and Khandola locals as also it connected Ponda Taluka with Bicholim Taluka.
He said the foothpath is used for morning walk as well as evening beside pedestrians use the bridge for walking from on end to other end that connect two villages.
Narayan said the bridge need proper inspection by government for maintenance as it is made of steel iron and also need proper maintanence to its structure as many places rust is seen to bridge fabrications.
