PONDA: Animal lovers demanded that government and Panchayats send stray cattle to Gaushalas for proper care and maintenance, which will prevent accidents due to the stray cattle on the road.
One aged cow fell in a trench and was rescued at Kavlem.
According to animal lover Sanket Narvekar
the cow fell in the trench yesterday night, and after being informed by locals, it was rescued today morning with the help of Ponda Fire Personnel.
Sanket Narvekar said that many Panchayats failed to care for stray cattle despite court directions.
He said Panchayats should install Goshalas or send them to Goshalas. He said he has been working for around fifteen years for the sake of stray animals and urged the government and Panchayat bodies to lift and send the stray cattle to Gaushalas.
