PANAJI: Arjun Rane and Yajat Keny have booked their places in the Boys U9 final of the YMCA All Goa Major Ranking Table Tennis Tournament at the Indoor Stadium, Campal.
Arjun produced one of the biggest upsets of the tournament in the quarterfinals, defeating top seed Urvansh Pathak 3-1. Vivaan Rane also advanced with a convincing 3-0 win over Mark D’Costa.
Yajat Keny secured his semifinal spot with a dominant 3-0 victory over Anshuman Lokapure. Meanwhile, Ronan Menezes Gama defeated second seed Kavish Singh 3-0 to complete the quarterfinal lineup.
The semifinals delivered another round of exciting contests. Arjun Rane continued his impressive campaign with a hard fought 3-2 victory over Vivaan Rane, earning his place in the title decider.
Yajat Keny also maintained his strong form, defeating second seed Ronan Menezes Gama 3-1. The victory secured his place in the final and set up an intriguing clash against Arjun.
With both finalists having produced notable wins on their way to the title match, the U9 final promises to be a closely contested battle.
The tournament is being organised by YMCA Panjim in association with the Goa Table Tennis Association and the Sports Authority of Goa.
