Panaji: A resilient century partnership between captain Aryan Narvekar and Dishank Misquin helped Goa recover from an early collapse and finish the opening day at 217 for five against Bihar in their Colonel C. K. Nayudu Trophy Elite four day match at the Rajgir International Cricket Stadium.
Goa endured a difficult start after losing three wickets for just 40 runs. However, Aryan and Dishank displayed patience and determination to rebuild the innings, guiding the team to 140 and restoring stability after the early setbacks.
Aryan played a composed knock of 60 from 138 deliveries, hitting four boundaries and two sixes. Dishank adopted a cautious approach at the other end, facing 207 balls to remain unbeaten on 62, with six boundaries. Their partnership proved crucial in helping Goa recover and establish a competitive position by the end of the day.
Wicketkeeper batter Chittem Jeevankumar provided further support with a valuable contribution of 43 runs, strengthening Goa’s recovery and helping the visitors move past the early trouble.
At stumps, Dishank remained unbeaten alongside Anuj Yadav, who was batting on seven. Goa had reached 217 for five in 89 overs, with the team looking to build a substantial first innings total on the second day.
For Bihar, Sudhanshu Kumar and Rahul Kumar claimed two wickets each, while Utkarsh Kumar picked up one wicket.
Goa will aim to capitalise on the foundation laid by Aryan and Dishank and extend their total when play resumes, with the unbeaten batter providing a strong platform for the lower order.
