PANAJI: With the BJP-led state government completing one year, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said that his government will introduce a new transport system to help people’s mobility.
“Transport department will introduce a new transport mobility system to help people in the mobility. Mobility plan aims to set up a proper network of routes across Goa which would facilitate smooth and hassle-free transport in the State,’ said CM Sawant.
He further said that the mobility plan will comprise proper strategies for Jetty connectivity, Airport connectivity, Multi-model Transport Integration, Mobility hubs, a network of bus stops, Freight corridors and freight timing for truck movements, and improvement of footpaths.
Sawant said that his government has kept health as the focus of governance.
“We have kept health as a focus of governance. Goa will have a cancer treatment facility in association with Tata memorial hospital,” he added.
Sawant said medical and wellness tourism will ramp up in the State with the involvement of all ayurvedic doctors and practitioners, besides setting up exclusive health and wellness centres on the lines of primary health centres (PHCs) and Community Health Centres (CHCs).
He said about 41 such health and wellness centres will be set up where services of Ayush doctors will be available.
“Two 50-bed Ayush hospitals under the National Ayush Mission (NAM) scheme will be set up soon. An Ayush hospital will be inaugurated on December 8 at Dhargal in Pernem taluk,” Dr Sawant said.
The Chief Minister said that h government could take up various developmental projects as the entire cabinet works as a team.
Speaking on Mhadei, CM Sawant said there would be no compromise on the Mhadei issue and that his government was working to protect the river water from being diverted.
“There will be no compromise on it, and the government has been working to protect the Mahadayi river water from being diverted,” he said.
