PANAJI: Hundreds of vendors queued up outside the office of the Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP) on Friday to collect the forms for setting up stalls at the annual Ashtami fair on the Mandovi Promenade from August 26 to September 6.
“As per the decision taken by the CCP’s standing committee, forms will be sold at Rs 500 each. Vendors will be charged Rs 250 per square metre per day and Rs 2400 will also be charged as sanitisation fees,” the senior official said.
CCP said that Forms for the Ashtami fair will be offered on a first-come-first-serve basis while priority will be given to traditional vendors.
The entire process will be transparent and streamlined so that we don’t face any unnecessary issues.
“This year you will not see a single agent or middle-men selling forms. We have ensured that genuine vendors get the opportunity,” said CCP official.
He further said that the CCP will act tough against the vendors who conduct their business beyond the demarcated area along the promenade.
