According to Verna Police, the incident occurred on August 17 at around 7.56 pm when the accused, identified as Jnyandeep Sarma of Kolkata, was driving his Thar from Panaji towards Benaulim. Police said they received a phone call from the PCR Panaji at around 4.49 pm on August 17, informing that a guest had allegedly ended his life by hanging at Hotel, Miramar. Team Goemkarponn QUEPEM: A tragic incident was reported at Cordem-Balli, Quepem, where a labourer was found dead in a well near Rohan Bar and Restaurant. According to police, Ramdas Gaonkar, owner of the bar and restaurant, informed that one of his workers, Anil Tharu, had gone missing since August 16. Gaonkar later noticed a pair of slippers floating in a nearby well and alerted authorities. A team from Cuncolim Fire Brigade was called to the spot and, after a search operation, recovered the body of Tharu from the well.
