The complaint was lodged by Esha Calangutkar, a resident of Khobrawado, who alleged that the accused, identified as Sakhu Lamani (20), daughter of Gurappa Lamani and originally from Shirunda, Gadag, Karnataka, stole the ornament from a cupboard drawer at her house near Charlton Hotel around 10 am. Team Goemkarponn The Lions Club of Navelim, in collaboration with Matoshree Sevadham Seva Trust, Mumbai, organised a free eye check-up camp on August 17 at Our Lady of Rosary Church premises, Navelim. A total of 218 people underwent eye examinations, out of which 128 were provided with spectacles free of cost.
