Accused Sanjay Karbhantal and others escalated the situation by assaulting PC Naresh Gaikwad and intervening officers. PCR staff were also manhandled as tensions grew. The entire scuffle was captured on a mobile phone. Two individuals were arrested under Vasco P.S. Cr. No. 64/2025 (Sections 121, 132, 115(2), 352, 189 r/w 3(5) BNS). Team Goemkarponn SANKHALI: A waiter working at a local restaurant in Sankhali has been arrested for allegedly duping his employer of over ₹70,000 through fraudulent online transactions and theft from the restaurant premises. Police said the accused, identified as Nikhil Thakur, an employee at Swad Restaurant, deceitfully obtained the PIN of the restaurant’s Google Pay account which was linked to his employer’s mobile phone. He allegedly used the phone to fraudulently transfer ₹20,000 and ₹50,000 from the complainant’s bank account into his own.
