Goemkarponn desk PANAJI: The government of Goa will celebrate July 15, 2024, as “Chieftains Uprising Commemoration Day”, the first uprising by brave Goans against the Portuguese rule held on July 15, 1583, at the Chieftains Memorial at Cuncolim, as State function. This day is celebrated every year to mark the sacrifice of the Goan Martyrs. Minister for Social Welfare, Shri. Subhash Phal Dessai, other Ministers, leader of the opposition will place wreaths at the Chieftains Memorial from 09.00 am onwards. New Delhi: The Supreme Court today began hearing a batch of pleas related to the controversy-ridden medical entrance exam NEET-UG 2024, including those alleging irregularities and malpractices in the May 5 test and seeking a direction to conduct it afresh.
