Goan-based Redcar hospital today launched the human trials of COVAXIN trials with two volunteers being given the vaccine this morning. BJP leader Bhavesh Jambhaulikar and Shiven Naik were amongst first two volunteers in Goa for human trial for “Covaxin”, vaccine developed by Bharat Biotech. The procedure for the clinical trial of Covaxine for COVID19, had began at Redkar hospital in Pernem last week with the collection of blood samples of seven volunteers. PORVORIM: Under pressure from the teachers association, the state government has finally withdrawn its earlier order directing teaching and non teaching staff to resume duties. The faculty can now work from home til July 31 until further order. Directorate of Education (DoE) on Saturday has issued a circular saying that teaching/non teaching staff should work from home and should not be called to schools/institutions unnecessarily. The circular is based on direction issued by Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) dated July 6. PANJIM: Goa on Saturday woke up to one more Covid 19 death taking the total death tally in the state to 30. An 80 yr old succumbed to the Covid 19 virus today at 3.15 am at ESI Hospital in Margao. The victim was admitted on July 22 from Chorao, expired at 3.15 am today. The victim was suffering from diabetes with hypertension. Post operation for hip fracture, the victim was transferred from GMC with myocardial infection. Also, the victim was getting fever and was also going through breathlessness for five days.
