Goemkarponn desk PONDA: The BJP-led Ponda Municipal Council led by Chairperson Ritesh Naik received a setback today. Ritesh is the son of Ponda MLA and is also considered a setback to Agriculture Minister Ravi Naik after eight out of fifteen councillors submit a no-confidence notice against Ritesh Naik. The development took place with just a few months left for the PMC election, as council tenure ends in the next few months. Those who signed the notice are councillor Venkatesh Naik, William Aguilar, Pradeep Naik, Jaya Sawant, Seema Fernandes, Ameena Naik, Geetali Talavalikar and Shantaram Colvekar.
Goemkarponn desk VASCO: Mormugao Municipal Council (MMC) on Thursday served notices to fish wholesale outlets operating at Kharewado while giving them an ultimatum of seven days to stop their buisness, failing which MMC will seal their shops and confiscate goods at the outlets. MMC notice also mentioned that the sale of fish within a radius of 1 km from the fish market was illegal under the law and that the activities must be stopped immediately.
