Goemkarponn Desk CALANGUTE: In the continuing drive against narcotic drugs, the Calangute Police Team apprehended one Haliburton Mondal aged 61 years, a native of West Bengal in the wee hours of the morning of 4th April 2021 for being in illegal possession of 2,055 grams Ganja worth Rs 2, 05, 500. The drugs were found in a bag carried by him. The accused person was produced before JMFC Mapusa and remanded to 5 days Police custody. Further investigations is in progress under the supervision of SDPO, Porvorim Edwin Colaco and SP, North Shri Utkrisht Prasoon, IPS.

Goemkarponn Desk PANAJI: Goa today reported 265 new COVID-19 positive cases. While there were 167 recoveries and 1 death reported. As per DHS health bulletin, 1 patient succumbed to the virus at GMC. The patient was referred to GMC in view of persistent dyspnea despite treatment and the patient having low oxygen saturation. The Rapid antigen test on admission at GMC was positive for covid infection. Despite optimum treatment the patient succumbed to the infection. Meanwhile, the total death tally is 835, the samples tested in the last 24 hours is 2057 and the active cases are now 2207.
