Team Goemkarponn MARGAO: Police have registered a case against two men for allegedly assaulting a resident of Davorlim and attempting to snatch his gold chain at Gogol, Margao. According to police, on September 21 around 4.30 pm, the accused — Vijay alias Viju Naik of Gogol and Harish Karyamani of Gogol Housing Board — allegedly abused complainant Ritesh Jamuni, grabbed the gold chain from his neck, and damaged it during a scuffle. Team Goemkarponn PONDA: Acting on a tip-off, Ponda Police arrested a local resident in Borim for possessing a sizeable quantity of narcotic drugs in the early hours of Tuesday. Police said that during a raid conducted between 4.45 am and 6.05 am opposite the Borim Village Panchayat, the accused, Sunny Naik of Borim-Ponda, was caught in possession of 1.433 kg of ganja, a narcotic substance, valued at around ₹1.43 lakh.
