Panaji – The most corrupt Sports Minister of Goa Manohar alias Babu Ajgaonkar has deliberately kept on hold since 2017, the financial Grants to the tune of Rs. 2.18 Crores for his demand to settle his “Mission 30% Commission”. The beneficiaries include Sportspersons with disabilities, Sportspersons who have won Medals representing the State of Goa at National Championships and Sports Association affiliated to Sports Authority of Goa. Sports Minister Babu Ajgaonkar has no right to occupy the chair and must resign immediately demanded Goa Pradesh Congress General Secretary Amarnath Panjikar.
Addressing a press conference at the Congress House in the presence of Spokesperson Swati Kerkar and Secretary Narayan Redkar, Amarnath Panjikar charged the BJP Government led by Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant of making fortunes from the Pains of Needy and Rewards of deserving sportspersons.
This data has exposed the tall claims of Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant who talks high on finacial condition of the State and has always remained in Celebrations Mode charged Amarnath Panjikar.
Congress spokesperson Swati Shet Kerkar said that as long as Babu Ajgaonkar is holding the portfolio, there will be on development of corruption on Sports department. She said that Government must not torture the sportspersons and demanded that all the pending payments should be released immediately.
We have documentary evidence to prove that the Sports Department is yet to release an amount of Rs. 55.59 Lakhs to 16 Sports Associations from 2017 to 2020. The figures of 2021 if added will take the amount still higher claimed Amarnath Panjikar.
The documents of the Sports Department further reveal that an amount of Rs. 16.14 Lakhs towards prize money to 188 Medal Winners who participated in various sporting events at the National Level is not paid by the Sports Department from 2017 to 2019. We will soon obtain the figures of unpaid amounts of 2020 and 2021 which will further expose the greed of the corrupts Sports Minister charged Amarnath Panjikar.
The insensitive and incompetent Sports Minister Babu Ajgaonkar has kept on hold Rs. 30.20 Lakhs of 91 Sports persons in indigenous circumstances for the year 2017 – 2018. Almost 35 Sportspersons in indigenous circumstances have not received an amount of Rs. 23.64 Lakhs till date for the financial year 2018 – 2019.
It is most unfortunate that the corrupt Sports Minister has also kept on hold an amount of Rs. 14.64 Lakhs of 23 Sportspersons in Indigent Circumstances for the year 2018 – 2019 and of Rs. 38.88 Lakhs of 62 Sportspersons in Indigent Circumstances for the year 2019 -2020.
The data also reveals that financial assistance of Rs. 39.48 Lakhs is not paid to 60 Sportspersons in indigenous circumstances for the year 2020 – 2021.
The above data exposes the insensitive approach of the Pro – Crony Capitalist towards the common man. The BJP Government which has remained in Celebrations Mode even during the Covid Pandemic has no emotional regards for the Sportspersons in Indigent conditions charged Amarnath Panjikar.
