Postmortem report of the dead body which was found on Baga beach on Saturday has pointed out that the person is likely to have been stabbed with a knife.
The deceased youth is from Delhi. Calangute Police have booked the matter as a case of murder. Three persons have been detained in the matter. Further investigation is on.
As per information the trio was in drunken stupor, noticed Tanvar on the beach and tried to sell him ‘Golmaal’.
When he refused to buy the spurious stuff, they tried to rob him to which he resisted and fought back. The trio then knocked him down, while one of the accused pinned him down, the two others mercilessly stabbed Tanvar with a knife,” said police officer
The trio then fled with Tanvar’s bag, mobile and Rs 5,000 leaving the injured youth who bled to his death on a rainy night on the beach,” said a cop.
The body was spotted floating in the water close to the beach on Saturday by lifeguards who retrieved it and informed the police.
The Calangute Police on Monday registered a murder case against the trio after receiving the postmortem report.
