PONDA: The Locals taking parts in Bandora Gramsabha discussions said there should be all effort to recover all pending dues which could generate revenue and launch development work
The Gramsabha was chaired by Sarpanch Sukanand Kurpaskar. On issue of pending house tax arrears Sarpanch said that after taking charge of Sarpanch eight month ago efforts are on to recover pending dues of house tax and so far more than Rs eleven lakh is recovered.
He said there is total house tax arrears of Rs 21 lakhs which is to be recovered from house owners. He said he will send demand notice to recover it.
He also said Panchayat is mulling to levy garbage tax. At present maximum garbage is received form Ward 9 and 10.He also said Panchayat had not received any fund from Government for garbage disposal so from Panchayat fund around more than Rs 1 lakh is spent per month on garbage collection, disposals.
We will soon start wet garbage disposal after approval to our proposal from Director of Panchayat. At present the space near Panchayat is used for MRF shed but will shift it elsewhere effort are on to get plot of ten thousand square meters for garbage disposal plant.
He said panchayat has proposed to construct crematorium and idol immersion spots
