PONDA: With no timeline for completion of Ponda STP, Ponda, Bandora locals continue to suffer due to continuous road digging for sewerage lines for the past six years.
The work was begun in 2016 and expected to complete in 2018; however still incomplete and still progressing. Every year roads are dug after the monsoon, causing a menace to locals, and pedestrians are forced to face dust pollution; the bike rider faces pothole-ridden roads. Bandura’s former Sarpanch Rajesh Naik said unplanned work has caused tremendous hardship for locals.
He said near KTC Bus Stand is Chirputem road which is dug for sewerage work.
The vast chambers are dug in an unplanned manner. Four chambers are dug at a distance of ten meters. The Chambers, after completing work, need to be adequately covered. Due to neglected work, people are suffering. He urged the PWD Minister to look into the matter and provide relief.
