New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday launched a sharp attack on the political situation in West Bengal while addressing a public gathering in Jamnagar during his visit to Gujarat.
The Prime Minister said elections in Bengal are unlike anywhere else in the country and claimed that people across the nation were waiting for the Bharatiya Janata Party to bring change in the state.
Describing the political atmosphere in Bengal as deeply troubled, PM Modi alleged that more than 300 BJP workers had sacrificed their lives over the years. He said the state had fallen into a “deep pit” and asserted that only the BJP could restore its former glory and improve the situation for the people.
Alongside his criticism of Bengal politics, the Prime Minister also highlighted Gujarat’s economic progress and industrial achievements. He thanked the people of Gujarat for their continued support, saying the BJP had now earned the trust of four generations in the state.
PM Modi pointed to Gujarat’s emergence as a global industrial hub and praised its leadership in sectors such as semiconductor manufacturing, metro coach production, and aerospace development. He also noted that Gujarat is the only state in India with a dedicated Ministry for Climate Change, describing it as a sign of the state’s forward looking approach.
The Prime Minister also used the occasion to recall important moments from India’s history. Referring to May 10 as the anniversary of the 1857 Revolution, he urged citizens to remember the sacrifices and bravery of those who fought during the First War of Independence.
Looking ahead to his visit to Somnath Temple, PM Modi spoke about the temple’s historical significance and resilience. He remembered the contributions of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and Rajendra Prasad in rebuilding Somnath, calling it a symbol of sacrifice, courage, and national pride.
