Panjim: Sporting Clube de Goa went down by a goal against FC Bengaluru United FC in I-League 2 at Dravid and Padukone COE in Bengaluru on Wednesday.
Player of the Match Ngangban Singh scored the winner in the 25th minute of the match.
The teams started on a positive note in the top of the table clash. Bengaluru had back-to-back wins against Kenkre FC and Dempo SC, while Sporting were held 1-1 in their opening fixture at home against Sudeva Delhi FC but secured a 2-1 win in their last game against Kenkre.
Sporting made a few changes to the starting 11 and quickly took charge.
However, Bengaluru stunned the Goan side against the tun of play in the 25th minute after a defensive lapse and goalkeeper Dylan Da Silva was left helpless as Ngangban finished neatly.
Sporting had their share of chances but couldn’t capitalise in the second half.
They next travel to Kolkata to take on United SC on February 4.
