According to Canacona Police Inspector Harish Raut Dessai, who is personally investigating the murder case, Naik who was arrested on Monday for the murder offence of Rivankar was produced at the court of JMFC–Canacona, who remanded the accused for seven days police custody.
It may be recalled that Naik (resident of Partagal) who was assisting one of his friend for constructing a house in the neighbourhood of the deceased (on whose complain – the construction was sealed by Panchayat) at Potkem-Poinguinim, was involved in the scuffle and assault during which Rivankar was pushed to the ground and died. Collector), some more people are likely to be summoned for questioning’, informed IO Raut Dessai.
Rohan is accused of continuing with the construction works at the already sealed property (house construction) of his friend (Sagar Morajkar) at Potkem (Poinguinim), and directly abusing the complainant Rivankar’s family with filthy words earlier in the day (Sunday), living in the neighbourhood allegedly at the behest of the behest of his friend, a police constable in police department.
