BICHOLIM: A 58-year-old Bicholim resident has lodged a police complaint after being cheated of ₹4,68,775 in an alleged online forex trading scam.
According to Bicholim police, the complainant, Milind Gore, of Siddhivinayak Complex near Shantadurga Higher Secondary School, was contacted by an unidentified person posing as an employee of Kite Forex Trading Company. The caller allegedly lured him into investing in the company by promising high returns.
Believing the claims, Gore transferred the amount in multiple instalments to a Google Pay account linked to the accused. However, the promised returns never materialised, and the accused reportedly stopped all communication and failed to return the invested amount.
A case has been registered at Bicholim Police Station under Sections 319(1) and 318(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023. The investigation is ongoing.
