Canacona : A Kerala registered truck was seized by Karnataka Excise officials at Mazali checkpost on Saturday morning while carrying spirit worth Rs two lakh fifty thousand.
Sources at the Mazali checkpost informed that upon checking a Kerala registered truck (KL-58-F-3571) on Saturday morning they found spirit cans concealed in the truck.
As the truck driver was transporting the excisable goods illegally, they seized the spirit worth Rs two lakh fifty thousand, the driver of the truck was also arrested and the truck carrying the goods was seized informed the source at Mazali checkpost.
The truck is valued at Rs 10 lakh and was proceeding towards Kerala from Goa, the spirit cans were hidden amongst other boxes carrying medical items informed by the same source.
