CANACONA: A number of Renal Failure parents undergoing the dialysis at Community Health Centre (CHC), Canacona approached the Canacona congress team to ease the difficulties they are facing at the Dialysis Centre.
According to Congress District (South) General Secretary (Organisation) Gasper Coutinho, some dialysis patients contacted him regarding the various issues and difficulties they have been facing during their visits to the Dialysis Centre at the CHC in Canacona.
Accordingly, Coutinho accompanied some of the dialysis patients to the Canacona Health Centre and the patients themselves narrated their grievances and difficulties to the Health Officer Dr. Jose Tavares.
Canacona’s CHC Dialysis Unit reportedly gives service to over 150 dialysis patients from amongst more than 200 Renal Failure patients in the taluka.
The Health Officer Dr Tavares agreed to the difficulty faced by patients when they (Dialysis patients) are asked to come down from the 2nd floor (Dialysis Centre is located) to the ground floor to pick up necessary injections and go back to the 2nd floor
The Health Officer agreed to make necessary injections available in the dialysis unit itself, and accordingly issued directions to the concerned health staff not to inconvenience the patients.
Dr Tavares also issued directions to fix the cleanliness issue of the toilets in the dialysis unit when patients complained of not maintaining the toilets in proper state and called for its immediate revamp
According to Coutinho, the Health Officer blamed PWD for responding to depute a Plumber to fix the water issue and assured the patients to get it done at the earliest.
