CANDOLIM: Calangute Police today has detained one suspect from Karnataka in the Orda-Candollim murder case.
Arnoldo Soares (69) is thought to have been fatally stabbed with a sharp knife after being discovered murdered in his Orda-Candolim home.
The accused stabbed Soares five or six times in the back with a sharp object, according to the police. The accused allegedly killed Soares in one of the house’s rooms, dragged the body to the sitting room, and then fled with Soares’s car.
Given that the deceased was a citizen of Canada and had Person of Indian Origin (PIO) status, police have contacted the Canadian Embassy to obtain authorization to perform an autopsy on the body.
