PANAJI: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant today ruled out any possibility of early elections in Goa stating that it will happen only in February 2022.
CM Sawant said that the current BJP government in the state will complete its entire tenure.
Sawant said the state government under his leadership “is doing well and is stable”.
“We don’t need to go for early elections. We will complete our tenure and go to polls at the right time,” said CM Sawant
The tenure of Goa Legislative Assembly ends in February, 2022.
“Our government is stable. We will have a full-fledged majority. Many developmental works will be completed. Many people will be recruited,” he added
The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Goa had earlier ruled out mid-term elections in the State as it had expressed confidence the government will complete its ongoing term under Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant.
“We will complete the full term. We are not in favour of mid-term elections,” Party President Sadanand Shet Tanavde had said.
