MAPUSA:
BJP Goa spokesperson Giriraj Pai Vernekar, Ex MLA Glenn Ticlo & BJP North Goa General Secretary Rajsingh Rane held a press conference at the Party’s North Goa office in Mapusa on Tuesday on the Opposition parties coming together to protest against Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal’s arrest.
At the press conference, Vernekar exposed the hypocrisy of AAP and the Congress party in opposing Arvind Kejriwal’s arrest by ED.
Congress leader & former MP Ajay Maken had accused Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and AAP of a Liquor scam worth ₹100 crores, elaborating that the money was utilized by AAP during the Goa Assembly elections in 2022, and Congress filed a complaint on the matter, observed BJP Goa Spokesperson Giriraj Pai Vernekar, exposing the hypocrisy of the INDI Alliance.
The Congress is supporting AAP today solely for political convenience, Vernekar added.
“Further on, Khalistani separatist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun has openly stated that AAP received ₹134 Cr from Khalistani supporters, and AAP MP Raghav Chaddha was seen with a pro-Khalistani MP in London. This shows that AAP is in cahoots with anti-national elements,” stated the BJP Spokesperson.
While Congress blames the ED and the CBI today for being misused by the BJP, the Supreme Court had earlier described the CBI as a caged parrot during the Congress regime, stated Vernekar.
Lashing out at the INDI Alliance for pointing fingers at the BJP‘s choice of Lok Sabha candidates in Goa, The BJP spokesperson stated that the Congress is unable to find candidates in Goa. Vernekar questioned whether there are no takers for Congress tickets due to the overall decline in that party, and added that Congress is not even declaring its sitting MP Francisco Sardinha as its South Goa Lok Sabha candidate as the party appears to have already accepted that it has lost confidence in the South Goa Lok Sabha Seat.
“I urge the Congress to follow the BJP’s example of women empowerment and declare a woman candidate from South Goa,” Vernekar said, adding that potential Congress candidate Elvis Gomes had himself accused the Congress of an unfair candidate selection process.
AAP had first declared its candidate but the party flipped on its decision and withdrew it, noted the BJP spokesperson adding that none of the former and sitting Presidents of AAP Goa have been elected to Panchayats or Legislative Assembly, thus lacking any experience in governance. Instead, the current AAP President who accuses the BJP of having paid spokespersons is himself out on bail in a case of tampering with evidence, Vernekar said.
The BJP is contesting the election on Modi Ki Guarantee for Viksit Bharat, and the work done by Double Engine Sarkar at the State and Center. Driven by this work, the NDA will certainly win 400+ seats in 2024, the BJP Spokesperson stated.
BJP Goa Spokesperson & Ex MLA Shri Glenn Ticlo also came down heavily on Congress for numerous dubious and anti-national practices. “The Congress is completely rattled and confused as it cannot find a suitable candidate in Goa. Dynastic parties such as Congress only work for a certain family,” said Shri Ticlo. He highlighted the work done by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s government and expressed confidence that the BJP will win both Lok Sabha Seats in Goa with a huge margin.
BJP North Goa General Secretary Shri Rajsingh Rane took on AAP President Amit Palekar for the latter’s remarks against BJP’s Bahujan Samaj leaders and Karyakartas. “The BJP has made a Bahujan Samaj leader into an MP for five terms. At the national level, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi comes from OBC. The Central government had no less than 27 ministers from OBC,” said Rane.
