PORVORIM: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said that construction of Aviation Skill Development Centre at Mopa Airport site is in progress and is expected to be completed and commissioned in November 2021.
“Construction of Aviation Skill Development Centre at Mopa Airport site is in progress and is expected to be completed and commissioned in November 2021. The physical progress of Mopa Airport achieved upto 31st August 2021 is 37.35%,” said CM Sawant
He further said that 1st phase of Mopa Airport project is expected to be commissioned by August 2022.
“GGIAL has informed that presently they do not come under the compliance requirements of CSR Act and hence no tasks are being addressed under the provisions of CSR Act. However, GGIAL is undertaking the philanthropic activities in the neighborhood villages,” he added
After the completion of the first phase, the airport is expected to cater to 4.5 million passengers. With the completion of fourth phase, its pax handling capacity is expected to be 13 million.
