CORTALIM: Cortalim MLA Anton Vas announced that the new Cortalim market complex will soon be fully functional.
Vas spoke to the media during a joint inspection convened by the GSIDC Vice Chairman Deepak Naik alongwith Cortalim Panchayat Sarpanch Senia Periera, Dy Sarpanch Divya Raikar, other panch members and secretary.
“On priority, the Government offices will be shifted to the complex,” he said.
He said the Cortalim Sarpanch Senia Pereira has requested for amendment in the market policy.
“She wants to allow maximum vendors to be shifted inside the complex, which will be considered,” he said.
During his visit to Vasco, Vas added, CM Sawant had directed GSIDC Vice Chairman Deepak Naik to personally inspect the place and submit a report.
“The market complex has become a total mess, and we will have to clear this issue on a priority basis,” he said.
“We have to immediately start shifting the Government offices like the Electricity department, Post office, Police Station outpost to this complex, and it will happen soon,” he said.
GSIDC Vice Chairman Deepak Naik assured that his department would finish the remaining minor works.
