PANAJI: A cruise vessel anchored on the Mandovi River mysteriously sank during heavy rains, sparking concerns over river safety and maritime preparedness in Goa’s monsoon season.
Officials believe that continuous downpours over the last two days may have led to waterlogging and instability, causing the vessel to sink. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported.
Maritime authorities have initiated an inquiry to ascertain the exact cause of the incident and evaluate the damage caused.
