MARGAO: Curtorim Gymkhana scored a fought 1-0 win over Peddem Bomm Sporting Club of Anjuna to enter into the quarterfinals of the 51st Custodio Memorial inter-village football tournament organized by Raia Sporting Club and played at Raia Panchayat football ground.
In an exciting match both teams showed urgency to score goals and showed determination and skill in front of large crowd but failed to score and were reminded 0-0 at half time
The all-important goal for Curtorim Gymkhana was scored by Maldino Rodrigues in the second session of the match.
Nickson Castanah of Curtorim gymkhana was awarded man of the match for his outstanding performance on the field by Peter Ferrao.
