PANAJI: The Cyber Crime Police Station, Goa, has registered an offence following the circulation of a fake and unauthorised recruitment advertisement on social media in the name of the Goa Staff Selection Commission (GSSC).
The fake advertisement, titled “GSSC Group C Recruitment 2026 – 215 Vacancies,” was circulated through a Facebook account/page named “Employment News – Rozgar Samachar.” The advertisement falsely presented itself as an official recruitment notice issued by the Goa Staff Selection Commission.
According to the Cyber Crime Police, the circulation of such unauthorised advertisements can mislead job aspirants and create confusion among candidates and members of the public. It may also facilitate cheating or fraudulent activities by inducing individuals to share personal information or make payments.
The Cyber Crime Police Station has registered an offence and launched an investigation into the matter. Efforts are underway to identify the persons responsible for creating and circulating the advertisement and to establish the circumstances surrounding the offence.
The police have advised job aspirants and members of the public not to trust or act upon the recruitment advertisement merely because it has been circulated on social media.
The public has been urged to verify all recruitment-related information only through the official website and authorised communication channels of the Goa Staff Selection Commission and the Government of Goa.
