BAGA: Three touts have been arrested in connection with the murder of a tourist, Harsh Dinesh Tanwar (25) of Delhi. The accused have been identified as Sahil Kumar a native of Uttarakhand , Noor Muhammad Khan of Canca-Parra and Sunil Vishwakarma of Nepal.
Initially Un-natural Death Case No. 64/2024 u/s 194 of the Bharatiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (BNSS) was registered and staff were briefed and detailed to ascertain the identity of the deceased and also to verify the CCTV footages within the periphery of the incident place.
On receipt of the autopsy report that on 12.08.2024 at 21.10 hours an offence vide Calangute PS Crime No. 103/2024 U/s 103 of BNS, 2023 stands registered upon the State complaint of PSI Harish Vaigankar of Calangute Police Station to the effect that on 10/08/2024 prior to 07.44 hours at sea shore near Indian Beach Restaurant, Khobravaddo, Calangute- Goa unknown accused person(s) assaulted the unknown male victim, age between 30 to 35 years with sharp weapon causing him multiple bleeding injuries over the body and thereby committed his murder.
During the course of enquiry and based on the CCTV footages suspect (1) Sahil @Vishal Bhatnagar S/o Surendra Bhatnagar, age-28 years, R/o Calangute-Goa, native of Nainital, Uttarakhand, (2) Sunil Vishwakarma S/o Gajvir Vishwakarma, age-22 years, R/o Calangute-Goa, native of Dang, Nepal & (3) Noor Mohammad S/o Alidaat Khan, age-27 years, R/o Parra, Bardez-Goa, native of Muradabad, Uttar Pradesh were rounded up and during sustained interrogation they confessed of committing the murder of the deceased.
The accused were placed under arrest on 13.08.2024 and presently in Police Custody. The accused are petty thieves and preliminary investigation surfaced that the crime is committed on sudden provocation.
