FATORDA: Terming the Margao Master Plan as “disastrous”, Fatorda MLA and GFP Chief Vijai Sardesai has indirectly slammed Margao BJP MLA Digambar Kamat for working for ‘vested interest lobbies’
Sardesai was speaking at the felicitation programme by the Margao Municipal Council in the MMC hall.
“By creating this disastrous Master Plan for Margao and Fatorda, one leader has declared beyond doubt that his loyalties lie not with the people of #Goa but with the vested interests lobbies,” said Vijai.
He further said that this blatant take over of farmers’ lands is engineered by the ruling party leader with total disregard for the sentiments of Madgaonkars and Fatordekars, and the future of Goa.
“If the councillors have any sense of justice, or concern for their home land, they should boldly speak up, or else face the wrath of the people,” he added.
Sardesai also said that even if I’ve to go alone on this, he will take this up in the upcoming session of the Assembly, and see to it that the resounding voice of the people repulse and defeat the evil designs of the greedy land grabbers and their puppet political agents.
Nonetheless, given that the Master Plan aims to develop and exploit areas, including agricultural fields, for commercial use, Sardesai declared he would bring up the matter during the upcoming Assembly session.
There are times when excellent officers choose to retire voluntarily because they do not want to bow to political pressure from ministers, legislators, and MLAs. The projects suggested in the Master Plan give the impression that the commercial capital is for sale in Margao, he said.
Sardesai urged the Margao City Fathers to continue being watchful and alert regarding the Master Plan, reminding the Councillors that they bear responsibility for the plan since they were chosen by the electorate.
