PANAJI: DMC, CES, Sridora Caculo and Sanquelim College marched into the quarterfinals of the Goa Univerity football championships.
At Goa University Ground
In the first pre-quarter final at Goa University Ground, D.M’s College and Research Centre, Assagao defeated P.C.C.E, Verna by a score of 2-0. Both the goals came from Vismay Dawre in the 15th and 30th minute of the match.
In a second pre-quarter final, C.E.S College, Cuncolim cruised through the quarter-finals by defeating Swami Vivekananda College, Borim 7-0. In the first half, Hatrick of goals was registered by Pranoy Gaonkar.
In the second half, C.E.S College, Cuncolim continued their dominance and netted another four goals. Two goals were scored by Sandeep Chaudhary and one each by Pranay Velip.
At Rosary College Ground
In the third pre-quarter final match, Sridora Caculo College, Mapusa had a comfortable victory over Agnel Institute of Technology and Design, Assagao by a full-time score 5-0. In the first half, Sridora Caculo College scored two goals which were scored by Narendra Naik and Saideep Pomburphekar. In the second half, two goals from Aman Govekar and one from Narendra Naik, registered a victory for Sridora Caculo College.
In the fourth pre-quarter final match, saw a tough match between Govt. College, Pernem and Govt. College, Sanquelim. The victory was decided by a solitary goal from Vihal Das of Govt. College, Sanquelim in the 68th minute to move to the next round.
Goa University Inter Collegiate Football Championship 2023-24 for Women begins from 04/10/2023
The first match of the championship was played at Rosary College Ground, where Goa College of Engineering, Farmagudi Defeated Agnel Institute of Technology and Design, Assagao by full-time score of 4-0. All four goals were scored by Tirtha Kunkalienkar.
