PANAJI: Dnyanprassarak Mandal’s College and Research Centre, Assagao and Sant Sohirobanath Ambiye Government College of Arts & Commerce won their opening matches in the Goa University Inter Collegiate Football Championship 2024-25 for Women.
The said Championship is being held at two venues, Goa University Ground, Taleigao and Rosary Church Ground, Navelim
At Goa University Ground
In the First match of the championship at Goa University Ground, Dnyanprassarak Mandal’s College and Research Centre, Assagao defeated P.E.S’s Ravi S. Naik College of Arts & Science, Farmagudi by a full-time score of 1-0. The Goal was scored by Ms. Pooja Nishad in the 27th Minute of the match.
In the second match, Sant Sohirobanath Ambiye Government College of Arts & Commerce, Pernem defeated Padre Conceicao College of Engineering, Verna in a tie-breaker by 2-1. The goals were scored by Sanjana Naik and Samartha Shirodkar in a tie-breaker.
In the third match Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda, Margao defeated Parvatibai Chowgule College of Arts & Science, Margao in a tie-breaker by 2-0, as the full-time score was 1-1, scored by Ms. Sania Cardozo of DBC Engineering, Fatorda in 12thminute and Ms. Criffa Pereira of Parvatibai Chowgule College, Margao in 25thminute. In the tie-breaker, goals were scored by Ms. Raynel Dias and Sania Cardozo.
At Rosary Church Ground, Navelim
In the first match of the championship at Rosary Ground, Navelim, the St. Xavier’s College, Mapusa is awarded a walkover against Ganpat Parsekar College, Harmal.
In the second match, the Cuncolim Educational Society’s College of Arts & Commerce, Cuncolim defeated VM Salgaocar Institute of International Hospitality Management, Manora-Raia, Salcete by a full-time score of 3-0. The first goal was scored by Ms. Gauri Naik in the 3rd minute of the match, 2ndand 3rd goals were scored by Ms. Babita Velip in the 37th and 45th minutes respectively.
In the third match, the Fr. Agnel College of Arts & Commerce, Pilar defeated Agnel Institute of Technology, Assagao by a full-time score of 8-0. Ms. Flancy Carvalho scored 3 goals in 3rd, 6th & 20th minute, Ms. Latisha Menezes scored 2 goals in 30th & 55th minute, Ms. Shalomi Parab, Ms. Amisha Mashelkar & Ms. Sania Lucas scored 1 goal each in 25th, 40th & 49th Minute respectively.
