PANAJI: Don Bosco College, Panjim, Rosary College, Navelim, St. Xavier’s College, Mapusa, D.M’s College and Research Centre scored victories in the Inter-Collegiate Football Championship for Women, organised by Goa University.
At Goa University Ground
Don Bosco College, Panjim defeated Narayan Zantye College, Bicholim 7-0. In the first half, Don Bosco College, Panjim scored five goals of which three goals were scored by Karen Estrocio and one each by Aqsa Sayed and AaroshiGovekar. In the second half, Don Bosco College continued their offensive play and scored another two goals which came from Thais Mascarenhas and Manisha Salgaonkar, which sealed the victory for Don Bosco College 7-0.
In the second match at Goa University Ground, Rosary College, Navelim registered a comfortable victory over Vidhya Prabodhini College, Parvari by a full-time score of 4-0.
In the first half, Rosary College scored one goal which was scored by Clency Miranda. In the second half, Rosary College showcased strong offensive play, netting three goals, were two goals were scored by Lillian Fernandes and one by Aniela Barretto to register a 4-0 victory.
At Rosary College Ground
On the first day of the match at Navelim, St. Xavier’s College, Mapusa defeated V.M.S College of Law, Miramar 5-0. In the first half, at St. Xavier’s College, four goals, were in three goals were scored by Dhanashri Naik and one by Pushpa Parab. In the second half, St. Xavier’s College continued their offensive play and scored one more goal which came from Pushpa Parab, which confirmed their seat for the finals
In the second match at Navelim, D.M’s College and Research Centre, Assagao defeated Carmel College, Nuvem by a full-time score of 1-0. Both teams were equally strong showed a good offensive as well as defence play. But the crucial match-deciding goal was scored by D.M’s College in the 10th minute of the match which was scored by SanjanaMavlankar. In the second half, the offensive play of Carmel College was kept at bay by the strong defence of D. M’s College and no further goals were scored.
