Panaji: Don Bosco Sports Academy, Fatorda delivered an outstanding performance at the ASMITA Khelo India Women’s 3×3 Basketball League South Goa leg, securing top honours across multiple categories and establishing itself as the standout team of the tournament. The matches were held at Don Bosco College of Engineering in Fatorda and featured competitive participation from ten teams.
The academy’s A team proved unbeatable in both the Under 18 Girls and Senior Women’s divisions, clinching the championship titles in convincing fashion. Adding to their dominance, the B teams from the same academy finished as runners up in both categories, highlighting the institution’s impressive bench strength and consistent training standards. Ponda Basketball Club secured third place finishes in both these divisions, putting up commendable performances throughout the competition.
In the Under 9 Girls category, Don Bosco Sports Academy continued its winning streak. The young squad defeated Margao Toddlers in the final to claim the title, completing a clean sweep across all age groups in the tournament. Their consistent victories across divisions reflected not only skill but also strong grassroots development within the academy.
The event was conducted under the ASMITA initiative, which focuses on encouraging greater participation of women in sports and creating platforms for emerging talent. The league aims to inspire young athletes by offering competitive exposure and structured opportunities at various levels.
