MIRAMAR: Due to the dangerous footbridge at Miramar being disassembled, Dr. Jack Sequeira Road, which runs from Miramar Circle to Goa Science Centre Junction, will be restricted to all forms of transportation from August 2 to August 9. Sneha Gitte, the North Goa collector, declared that there will be a traffic diversion during this time.
The deteriorating footbridge, which presented a safety hazard to commuters and students, is being demolished by the CCP. CCP Mayor Rohit Monserrate clarified that the requirement for a stability report and drawn-out procedures were the reasons behind the postponement of resolving the matter.
A contractor has been appointed and given instructions to minimize any inconvenience to the school while the bridge is being demolished.
Traffic PI Chetan said that vehicles heading to Dona Paula will be rerouted via Tonca, and traffic coming from Dona Paula will be diverted at the Science Centre. Sharda Mandir School Principal Sharmila Umesh expressed relief about the bridge removal.
