PANAJI: The Goa Police Crime Branch has arrested the eighth accused, Dinanath S/o Triloki Kori, 32, in connection with the Porvorim Police Station shooting case registered under Cr. No. 66/2026.
According to a press note issued by the Crime Branch, credible information was received on September 29 regarding the movement of the absconding accused in the Sion–Trombay Road area of Mumbai. With the assistance of technical surveillance, the accused was traced and intercepted at Chunabhatti, Mumbai, where he was subsequently arrested.
The operation was carried out by a Crime Branch team comprising PI Mahesh Gadekar, PSI Madhav Naik, PC Sunil Begur and PC Uddesh Shirodkar, under the supervision of PI Tushar Lotlikar and DySP Suraj Harlankar.
During the investigation, Kori allegedly identified two vehicles that were reportedly used in the commission of the offence. The vehicles, a white Toyota Corolla bearing registration number MH-12-CY-1949 and a golden Maruti Suzuki SX4 bearing registration number MH-02-BD-2508, were traced and seized by the police.
The vehicles were seized under proper attachment panchanamas in the presence of a Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team for further forensic examination.
Further investigation in the case is being conducted by the Crime Branch, Goa Police.
