PANAJI: The High Court of Bombay at Goa today cancelled the externment order issued against Five Pillar Siolim church pastor Dominic D’Souza and his wife Joan Mascarenhas.
The Court ruled that experiment orders cannot be issued on the basis of pending and ongoing cases against individuals.
Pastor Dominic D’Souza and his wife Joan D’Souza had challenged the Chief Secretary’s ruling on externment before the High Court of Bombay at Goa.
In the petition filed Pastor Dominic Dsouza and his spouse Joan Dsouza contest the CS’s ruling “dismissing their appeals challenging North Goa Collector’s orders externing them from North Goa district.”
As per the report dated January 4, 2024, submitted by SP North Nidhin Valsan, it appears that both Dominic and Joana had allegedly become notorious criminals involved in offences like drugs and magic remedies, loud music cases, hurting of religious sentiments of the people thereby seriously disturbing normal public life in the North Goa district.
There are as many as six cognisable cases under various Sections of the IPC that have been registered against them, states the police report.
