BICHOLIM: The fish vendors have expressed their displeasure over the Bicholim Muncipality’s act of making them sit outside the fish market.
“Today we were told to come and sit near the fish market but instead of giving us place in the fish market shed we are made to sit in the open in rain” a fisher woman told.
About 15 fish vendors who are presently sitting outside the fish market fear that they might get sick because of rain.
“There are dogs and cattle who have spoiled the place inside the fish market. They are allowed inside but we are made to sit outside. We are unable to know the logic behind this” a vendor told.
Even the locals have expressed surprise over the incident. “They should have been made to sit inside. If BMC is feeling that people would not maintain social distancing they should have kept their personnel on the gate and let only few people inside” Nitin Kumbharjuvekar told.
