PORVORIM: Police have registered an offence following a complaint by Peter Martins, Attorney of Comunidade, Serula, alleging that two persons and others conspired to fabricate documents and fraudulently obtain title and possession of two communidade plots in Socorro, Porvorim.
According to the complaint, the alleged offences took place prior to June 28, 2022, at Socorro, Porvorim. The accused have been identified as Rajesh Savaikar and Roshni Savaikar, along with others.
The complaint alleges that the accused, acting with common intention, prepared forged and fabricated documents relating to Plot Nos. 26(B) and 26(C), measuring 315 square metres and 500 square metres respectively, situated in Survey No. 362/1 of Socorro village, Bardez.
The allegedly fabricated records include a certificate dated April 22, 2004, a corresponding Official Gazette dated October 9, 1997, a resolution of the Comunidade of Serula, payment receipts, File No. 1-321-97/ACNZ/1997, a certificate dated November 24, 1994, and a government letter bearing No. 17/148/95/RD dated March 1, 1996.
The complainant alleged that the accused fraudulently transferred the two plots in their names without following the mandatory procedure prescribed for the allotment of communidade plots. They allegedly obtained title and possession of the properties, thereby cheating the Comunidade of Serula and other government authorities.
The offence was registered on October 5, 2026, at 7.19 pm based on the complaint lodged by Martins, who has his office at West Coast Residency, Porvorim.
Police are investigating the alleged forgery, fraudulent transfer of the plots and the role of the accused and others in the matter.
The investigation is being conducted by PI Tukaram V. Chavan.
