New Delhi, November 28: The Special Judge for CBI Cases, New Delhi has sentenced Sh. R.K. Srivastava (IAS-Retd.), then Registrar of Co-operative Societies, New Delhi & Sh. Padam Dutt Sharma, then Deputy Registrar of Co-operative Societies, New Delhi, both to undergo two years Rigorous Imprisonment with fine of Rs.35,000/- each and three private persons, Sh. Subhash Chander to undergo four years RI with fine of Rs. 25,000/-; Sh. Mayank Goswami to undergo four years RI with fine of Rs. 25,000/- & Sh. Ashwani Sharma to undergo four years RI with fine of Rs. 30,000/-.
In pursuance of orders of Delhi High Court, CBI had registered a case on 26.10.2006 against Sh. Subhash Chander (private person) and others on the allegations that the accused entered into criminal conspiracy with officials of Co-operative Societies, New Delhi in the matter of revival of Shree Radhakrishna Co-op. Group Housing Society Limited, Delhi on the basis of false/forged/bogus documents.
Earlier, a Preliminary Enquiry was registered. Investigation revealed that Sh. R.K. Srivastava, IAS (AGMU-1984), then Registrar, RCS, New Delhi in connivance with Sh. Padam Dutt Sharma, then Deputy Registrar and other accused including S/Sh. Subhash Chander, Mayank Goswami, Ashwani Sharma had fraudulently revived the defunct Shree Radhakrishna Co-op. Group Housing Society Limited on the basis of false & fabricated documents.
After investigation, a chargesheet was filed against 12 accused in the Court of Special Judge for CBI Cases, New Delhi. The Trial Court convicted the said accused and acquitted the five accused. Two accused expired.
