PARRA: Police have registered an offence against four persons following a complaint of assault and criminal intimidation near the Ganesh Temple at Parra, Bardez.
According to the complaint lodged by Sandesh Suresh Palyekar, a resident of Vanciowado, Guirim, the incident took place on October 3 at around 8.30 pm near the Ganesh Temple in Parra.
The accused have been identified as Ugam Alvi, a resident near Shantadurga College, Bicholim; Siddhu Dharma Deuskar of Parra; and Runal Palyekar and Sunita Palyekar, both residents of Chapora.
Police said that the accused allegedly acted with common intention in connection with a personal dispute and abused the complainant using filthy and offensive language. They allegedly assaulted him with a metal object, causing bodily injuries.
The complaint further alleges that following the assault, the accused threatened Palyekar with dire consequences, including a threat to kill him.
The offence was registered on October 5 at 6.16 pm based on the complaint. Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the dispute, the alleged assault and the threats issued to the complainant.
The investigation is being conducted by PSI Yeshwant Mandrekar.
